Really quick posting of today's happenings because the staff is trying to close up the lobby of the hotel and I'm the only one here.  And, it's the only place with internet service.  So, here goes...

I left Windohek at about 8:30 this morning.  Made my way to a grocery store and got some snacks and water for the journey to the Bagatelle Kalahari Game Ranch.  Most of you know that I am horrible with directions so I got smart this trip.  I brought my old Iphone and got a sim card at the airport and loaded it up.  So, I could use google maps.  I'm smart.  So, I made it out of Windohek just fine.  Barely.

Most of the drive today was on a tar road.  The B1.  To get to the hotel, I had to take a gravel road and a sand road for about 50 km.  It was interesting.  But, I made it.

I got to the hotel at about 1:00 and got checked into my super swanky room.  Complete with it's own pool!  I guess I'm some sort of special guest.  Or, I just arrived before any other guests did.  That's probably what happened.  Anyway, got checked in and chilled out for an hour.  Then I went on a game drive.

The game drive was awesome!!  We saw Orynx, the animals with the big horns, Springbok, and some giraffes.  It was so beautiful to be out in the desert and plains of Africa.  After driving around looking for game for a couple of hours, we made our way to a hill top where they served gin and tonics.  I love gin and tonics!!  This is called a sundowner.  I think my new favorite thing is a sundowner.  After the drive, we went back to the hotel and I went to dinner.  Now, here I am in the lobby using the wi-fi, keeping the staff here while I blog.  I should be done now.  They probably want to go home.

Maybe I can blog again tomorrow.  Tomorrow I have about a 6 hour drive to the Fish River Canyon.  I will be hiking in the canyon on Wednesday.  So, that's awesome.

Until next time and when I have more time...  Thanks for reading!!!
